This award has been established to honour the memory of Dr. Masaru Ryan Yukawa with two goals in mind: to shine a light on the importance of mental health in the workplace and to encourage those who are pursuing change for the benefit of others.
We believe that the health of our work environment is worthy of study and that improvements may involve challenging the status quo. People in all fields often struggle in silence but, now more than ever, the mental health of our frontline workers must be top of mind. For this reason, we’d like to support those who are champions of progress for the greater good.
We’re looking for innovative thinkers to propose new perspectives that will improve workplace culture. We’d like to engage those with ideas or projects that seek to better understand or improve the psychological well-being of staff in our operating rooms and other allied areas within our hospitals. As a further incentive, the individual or group representing the winning submission will receive $5,000.00. This award isn’t a one-time endowment — rather it’s an opportunity to create a lasting partnership where the winner will receive ongoing support with their initiative. If you’re committed to innovation, we’re committed to you.
